"It's an amazing program; it stopped us right in our tracks" says Sean Smith, General Manager of the Hilton Boston Financial District. "A visiting professor from Egypt, Dr. Mohamed Abdelwahab Abdelfattah, started this program to bring music to the deaf and hard of hearing at the Horace Mann School. Part of the goal is for the students to perform in their own orchestra come June, but they don't have any instruments. None! Right now they are playing with wooden spoons and metal bowls. We can do better than that in this town, so we are reaching out to our staff, our neighbors, and music lovers in Greater Boston to bring in gently used or new instruments on Valentine's Weekend. We will deliver the instruments to Horace Mann and the kids will truly to be able to make beautiful music together."
